Agrifood Innovation event

Where agrifood meets innovation! This event comprises four Agrifood Innovation programs: Beyond 3D Food printing, Protein Transition, Smart Farming, and Vertical Farming. The programs highlight groundbreaking advancements aimed at reshaping food production and sustainability. Together, they offer a visionary look at the future of agriculture, food technology, and sustainability.

Programs

Vertical Farming

At the Vertical Farming program, we explore cutting-edge techniques and technologies transforming (urban) food production. Vertical farming allows crops to be cultivated in vertically stacked layers, efficiently using limited urban space and promoting environmental sustainability.

Vertical farms can be constructed in both new and existing buildings and offer numerous benefits for environmental sustainability and human health. Vertical farms conserve valuable resources by minimizing the need for water and nutrients. Additionally, eliminating pesticides and fungicides creates a healthier and more natural growing environment. Join us as we delve into key areas of research and development in vertical farming.

Protein Transition

The protein transition is a critical global concern that demands our attention. We must shift towards high-quality, protein-rich alternative food sources while considering human health and environmental sustainability. Traditionally, most of our protein consumption has relied on animal-derived products. However, this approach is becoming increasingly inefficient and cannot adequately sustain the growing and more prosperous global population.

Meat production, in particular, places a heavy burden on land, water, and raw materials, significantly impacting the environment. With the world population expanding and the demand for meat rising, we must transition towards alternative food sources that provide high-quality protein while prioritizing the well-being of humans and the planet.

During the conference, this program delves into cutting-edge research and commercial initiatives in these fields. Experts from academia and industry will present their latest findings, showcasing innovative products and services.

Beyond 3D Food Printing

The Beyond 3D Food Printing program explores innovations that surpass the traditional scope of 3D Food printing. Our event delves into the latest advancements in equipment, process techniques, and materials, offering customized solutions for today’s most pressing food-related challenges. We cover everything from promoting healthy, personalized nutrition and reducing food waste to advancing the protein transition and scaling up production.

This revolutionary advancement has the potential to transform our relationship with food. Join us as we delve into cutting-edge research and development in taste, texture, structure, flavor, color, and nutrition. Discover the fascinating world of ingredients and technologies used in 3D Food printing and explore the emerging business models in this field.

Smart Farming

The future of agriculture—where sensors, drones, and satellites are poised to revolutionize farming practices. The agriculture industry has witnessed significant transformations, from the advent of mechanization and mineral fertilizers to the industrialization of production processes. Now, we stand on the brink of a new era: Smart Farming, also known as Precision Agriculture.

Today, the Internet of Things (IoT) allows us to collect vast data, control equipment remotely, and monitor individual animals. More and more farmers are embracing digital technology and data-driven innovations to enhance their operations.

As we delve into the realm of Smart Farming, numerous questions arise. What new business models will thrive in this era of innovation? Will new players disrupt the traditional farming landscape? How can traditional farmers transition successfully to becoming intelligent farmers? Moreover, how can we identify and develop innovative methods for sustainable food production?
