Eight ambitious AI startups have been selected to compete in the AI Pitch Competition. The finals are on November 13, 2025, and IO+ will portray each contestant in the run-up to that event. The AI Pitch Competition is a Brabant-based contest that highlights the most innovative AI solutions, offering startups the opportunity to present their ideas, connect with industry leaders, and accelerate their growth. Today, we show what ArtVista has in store for the world. Co-founder Taylan Ozgur Aygun answers our questions.
What specific AI technology is at the core of your solution?
"Our core innovation combines self-supervised transformer models for embedding extraction with an agentic computer vision pipeline specialized in art understanding. Unlike traditional supervised models, our approach learns rich visual representations without labeled data, enabling adaptive object detection and context-aware insights. This allows ArtVista’s art guide system to interpret and recommend artworks with higher semantic accuracy and adaptability."

How scalable is your AI solution?
"Our solution will grow across the world because art speaks a language everyone understands. With Artvista, people can discover new ways to appreciate and interact with creativity, finding connections that go beyond borders. The challenge is to honor each culture’s traditions while staying authentic, but we see this as a chance. Every place carries its own artistic heritage, and Artvista can celebrate and connect these voices on a global stage."
How does your startup address potential ethical concerns related to bias, fairness, or transparency in AI decision-making?
"At Artvista, ethics guide everything we do because our mission is to connect people with art in meaningful ways. We take care to represent artists and their work authentically, drawing from verified sources across cultures. When people scan an artist’s work, they can see which parts come from historical records and which are AI-enhanced interpretations. This approach builds trust, prevents misinformation, and ensures that artistic traditions are shared fairly and respectfully."
In what ways do you believe your AI solution can positively impact society?
"Artvista will positively impact society by democratizing access to art, making cultural experiences more inclusive, and inspiring creativity globally. By connecting people to diverse artistic traditions, we foster cultural understanding and appreciation. Potential risks include over-reliance on AI interpretations or cultural misrepresentation. To mitigate this, we combine AI-generated insights with expert curation, clearly labeling AI content, and continuously gathering feedback to ensure authenticity and respect for all artistic communities."
Tell us more about your entrepreneurial journey
"The biggest hurdle in launching Artvista was introducing AI into a field as sensitive and timeless as art. Many people worried that AI might replace creativity rather than support it. We addressed this by connecting directly with artists, curators, and cultural communities to show how our technology enhances rather than diminishes artistic expression. Today’s fast-changing AI landscape has taught us to focus on cultural value. Rather than creating just another tool, we aim to be a trusted bridge between innovation and art, fostering growth that is meaningful as well as scalable."
How are you preparing for the growing regulatory frameworks around AI, such as the GDPR, the AI Act, and other data privacy laws?
"Artvista is fully committed to regulatory compliance, including GDPR, the AI Act, and copyright laws, ensuring respect for public domain timelines and creators’ rights. We anonymize user data, clearly label AI-generated content, and integrate privacy into every stage of development. This approach allows us to innovate boldly, delivering AI-driven art experiences that are legally sound, ethically responsible, and globally trusted."
Future vision: What is your long-term vision for your AI solution?
"Our long-term vision is to create the world’s most democratic art platform, uniting everything from street art to museum masterpieces and giving emerging artists a global voice. In the next 5–10 years, Artvista will feel like a personal art guide, understanding context, tailoring stories, and making discovery deeply human. Rather than replacing creativity, we see AI as a companion that strengthens the bond between people and art across cultures."
What opportunities does your location give you? What is still missing in the ecosystem you are part of?
"Being located in Brabant and the Netherlands provides Artvista with incredible opportunities. Accelerators such as Braventure and The Gate organize inspiring events that energize startups and foster a strong, supportive community. The ecosystem is vibrant for innovation and collaboration. Yet, despite the region’s rich cultural and artistic heritage, there is still limited focus on integrating art and culture into the startup scene, a gap we aim to bridge by placing creativity at the heart of technology."
The AI Pitch Competition: Why will you win this contest?
"We will win the AI Pitch Competition because Artvista goes beyond technology; it amplifies the soul of art. There is a gap between human creativity and the ways people experience it, and AI helps us bridge it. Just as photography did not replace art but made it more visible, our AI enhances artistic expression, making it more accessible, inspiring, and culturally celebrated worldwide. Artvista brings this transformative value to life, and that is exactly why we will win."
