Struck, an Amsterdam-based startup, has raised €2 million in seed funding to accelerate construction through AI. The investment will allow Struck to further develop its compliance and design check platform, which aims to accelerate the construction process, make it more sustainable, and make it more achievable by removing regulatory complexity that often delays green projects.
Launched in 2024, Struck has quickly risen to prominence as the leading AI platform for navigating building regulations within the Netherlands, boasting a user base of thousands. The platform provides immediate insights into applicable regulations and automatically verifies whether a design meets all required requirements, streamlining the construction process for architects, developers, and municipalities.
Struck's AI offers a comprehensive library of building regulations, claiming to be the first of its kind in the Netherlands and the EU. It provides access to over 2 million building regulation pages and can deliver answers in approximately 30 seconds, saving considerable time. The platform also offers permit-free checks and zoning and code insights specific to locations within the Netherlands.
Investment details and future plans
Max van Riel, cofounder of Struck, explains: “Building regulations are becoming increasingly complex, while the need for faster and more sustainable construction is greater than ever. Therefore, it's essential to find solutions to accelerate and simplify this process. I'm proud that with Struck, we've built an AI-driven platform that helps both public and private parties easily navigate regulations. This investment allows us to further develop our compliance and design check platform and bring this solution to other European countries facing the same challenge”.
The €2 million seed funding round was led by Value Factory Ventures, with additional contributions from Antler and several business angels with expertise in construction and real estate.
Johan van Heusden, Managing Partner at Value Factory, added: “The construction sector is responsible for nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions, yet we urgently need to build millions of new homes. Solving this paradox means building smarter, not slower. Struck’s AI platform removes one of the biggest barriers to progress: the regulatory complexity that delays sustainable projects and drives up costs. By turning rules into real-time design intelligence. Struck helps accelerate the green transition in construction, making it faster, scalable, and achievable. That’s exactly what we stand for at Value Factory.”
