1. Eindhoven to get factory for millions of battery components

LeydenJar raises €23 million to complete its Eindhoven factory PlantOne, which will start producing silicon anodes in 2027. The company will construct a factory that produces a crucial battery component. In a few years, 150,000 square meters of silicon anodes will roll off the production line each year, enough for 5 million smartphones or all earbuds worldwide. This new technology increases battery capacity by 50% and reduces charging time to under 12 minutes, with 85% fewer CO2 emissions compared to conventional batteries.

2. TracXon raises €4.75M for sustainable printed circuit boards

TracXon, a deeptech spin-off from TNO, has raised €4.75 million (approx. $5.50 million) in seed funding to accelerate the industrialization of hybrid printed electronics (HPE). This groundbreaking technology offers a sustainable and more material-efficient alternative to traditional printed circuit boards (PCBs). PCBs are one of the most polluting components in electronics.

3. Revyve raises €24 million to develop sustainable egg replacements

Revyve, a Dutch food tech scale-up, has raised €24 million in a Series B funding round. With this investment, the company aims to scale up the production of functional yeast proteins that can replace eggs and additives in mainstream food categories. The unique properties of these yeast proteins offer food producers an affordable and sustainable solution to meet their sustainability goals and offset fluctuations in egg prices.

4. The Protein Brewery raises €30 million for global rollout of fungal proteins

The Protein Brewery raises €30 million to market its fungi-based ingredients. The money will be used for commercial rollout, expansion of the production site in Breda, and further development of the innovation platform.

Fermotein is a high-quality protein and fiber ingredient that can be used in tasteless and odorless forms in baked goods, dairy alternatives, and sports nutrition, among other applications. Thanks to a patented fermentation process, production is less capital-intensive than many other alternative proteins, making upscaling more cost-efficient.

5. Smart pest management startup PATS raises €2.7 million

PATS, a Dutch agri-tech company, has secured €2.7 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its innovative pest control technologies. PATS' solutions, including real-time pest tracking and predictive analytics, aim to simplify and enhance the reliability of pest management for growers, while reducing their reliance on pesticides. The company's modular platform can deliver over 1,000 sensor systems monthly from its facilities in the Netherlands and has already been installed in 25 countries worldwide.
