ONWARD Medical raises €50.85 million

The Eindhoven-based neurotechnology company ONWARD Medical has successfully raised €50.85 million. It did so through a private placement of 11.3 million shares. With this money, the company will commercialize its ONWARD's ARC-IM and ARC-EX systems, which aim to restore mobility and autonomic functions for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

Founded in 2014, the company specializes in restoring movement and other functions in individuals with spinal cord injuries. The ARC-EX system uses spinal cord stimulation to help restore hand and arm function in patients. This fresh injection of capital will help ONWARD sustain operations for at least the end of 2026.

Hydryx secures €2.5 million for its landfill methane emissions tech

The Amsterdam-headquartered startup Hydryx raised €2.5 million in new funding to advance its tech that helps curb landfill methane emissions. Their system enables the capture of a greater share of a landfill’s methane emissions, curbing emissions and increasing energy generation.

The startup plans to use this sum to accelerate the European expansion of this business. The €2.5 million oversubscribed seed round was led by impact investor Marcel Smits and venture capital fund Graduate Entrepreneur, with a consortium of mission-driven entrepreneurial angel investors joining.

Water waste detection HULO bags €2.3 million

Startup HULO, using AI to detect water leaks, raised €2.3 million. The company uses pressure and flow data from existing utility networks to detect, locate, and prioritize leaks and anomalies. Combining AI and physical models, the Frisian company understands the behaviour of each network, predicting leaks and failures.

HULO is already active in Europe and has taken steps to expand in Latin America. This investment will help both accelerate rollout in new markets and expand the software capabilities, as the startup aims to reduce water waste worldwide.

Process mining company Konekti receives €1.2 million

Konekti, an Eindhoven-based startup, raised €1.2 million in new funding. The company is developing a data preparation tool for process mining, a technology that leverages data analysis to spot inefficiencies in business processes. Konekti solution aims to streamline this procedure.

The capital boost will help the company accelerate its expansion, as it aims to become the market leader in the sector. The software is already employed by multinational and consulting firms in the Netherlands and beyond.

Ocean restoring startup raises seed funding

SeaCrete, a spinoff of Wageningen University & Research, secured €100,000 in pre-seed funding. The young company is developing a bio-inspired and bio-sourced alternative to concrete to help restore biodiversity in marine environments. The material helps oyster and coral reefs thrive.

The €100,000 injection came from agrifoodtech accelerator StartLife and will allow SeaCrete to scale up its innovation, moving closer to practical applications in reef restoration and marine infrastructure.
