Mark it in your calendar and send us your nominations: the 11th edition of the Gerard & Anton Awards is coming up.
Every year, the Gerard & Anton Awards Committee spotlights ten promising startups from the Brainport region. These are ten innovative start-ups from which we expect great things in the years to come. For each of these startups, a Gerard & Anton Award is waiting: not only as a reward for recent development but especially as an incentive to move even further.
The previous ten editions show that this helps: the success rate of the former winners is far above average. That conclusion was firmly established in 2022 via the results of the comprehensive survey of former winners conducted by Strategy Unit and IO+. As every year, we will update the results on the day of the award ceremony.

The selection for the eleventh edition of this event takes place with the help of the audience and an expert jury led by Alderman Stijn Steenbakkers. The award ceremony is on July 3 at 17:00 on High Tech Campus Eindhoven. As in previous years, Beatrix Bos and Bert-Jan Woertman will host the award show. Registration for the event has started, and a contribution in the form of a nomination is already welcome: send it to by June 1st. From there, the jury will take it to the final 10.
History of the Gerard & Anton Award
Since 2014, we have had a total of 100 winners on stage. As of 2016, this is done under the name “Gerard & Anton Award,” after the best-known startup from the region. Across the board, the success rate of the winning startups is unprecedentedly high: where on average about 15-20% of startups are structurally successful, in this group it is more than 75%.
