Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) has "an exceptionally clear mission," and even though Capreon is no longer the owner, it will do everything in its power to keep promoting its ambitions. Raphael Noé, CEO of Capreon: "The mission is to become the premier hub for innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the high-tech manufacturing industry." Today, Noé officially handed over the keys to the campus to the municipality of Eindhoven. "Capreon and I will help deliver this alongside the municipality."

Although selling BIC with all forty tenants, the surrounding areas, and the parking garage, Capreon will stay on as a partner for the municipality. Noé: "We want BIC to be right at the heart of this. We need to have regional, local, national, and global goals. Capreon and its partners are incredibly excited and dedicated to helping the municipality deliver on this mission."

Eindhoven's strategic move: Municipality to acquire Brainport Industries Campus

“This opportunity arose because the owner decided to sell,” alderman Stijn Steenbakkers explained. “We’re seizing the chance to secure this vital asset for the long term.”

In his short speech, Noé clarified that Capreon had developed BIC to become "a prime, well-diversified asset. We have a 100% let campus today. It is environmentally strong with brilliant green credentials and the tenant mix is education tenants, start-ups, corporates, nationals, and multinationals."

Alderman Stijn Steenbakkers called BIC "one of the key cornerstones" of the city's economic policy. "The campus is crucial for the future wealth of our children and our grandchildren, and we have to safeguard it." Buying BIC gives the city the opportunity to reach its goals around securing public functions like education and protecting vital infrastructure. "We want to build on a future innovation ecosystem on a solid financial foundation."
