Dutch startup Zeno, which develops AI technology to support legal professionals in document analysis, research, and contract and legal document drafting, has secured a €2 million investment from Chris Oomen, founder of Optiver and former CEO of DSW.
No fragmented AI solutions
It is an all-in-one platform. Where many AI tools are limited to one specific part of legal work, Zeno has opted for a different approach. “Lawyers and legal teams are not looking for fragmented AI solutions, which more often than not lead to frustration rather than efficiency,” explains Raoul Bouchrit, co-founder of Zeno. “Our platform supports the entire work process in a single environment, and we ensure that the implementation works in everyday practice.” This integrated approach is proving attractive, not only to users but also to investors looking for AI solutions with deep domain expertise and proven value.
Investment marks new phase for Zeno
The capital injection will enable Zeno to further develop its technology and expand its team with talent from both the legal and technical fields. This will accelerate the company's position in a market that demands reliable and supportive AI solutions. “We don't want to replace legal work, but to strengthen it,” says co-founder Raoul Bouchrit. “You can't automate empathy, but you can make more time for it. That's the core of our product."
For Oomen, this investment fits into a broader vision: focusing on technology that doesn't marginalize traditional sectors, but modernizes them. ”Zeno shows that AI doesn't have to be a threat to professionals, but a reinforcement. And that's exactly the kind of technology Europe needs more of right now.”
