Dutch AI start-up Perry is making its official debut today with a €1.6 million investment to ease the pressure on technical personnel in Europe. The funding round was led by Berlin-based fund Revent, supplemented by angel investors working at Google and OpenAI, among others.
The young company develops AI-driven work instructions that help engineers improve their work. The initiative comes at a crucial moment: Europe is facing a chronic shortage of technical personnel. Over the past two decades, the number of technical workers has fallen by around €15 million — a trend that is set to continue due to an aging population and limited recruitment. Sectors such as renewable energy, telecommunications, and construction are at risk of grinding to a halt as a result.
Technology for the workplace
Instead of complicated manuals and outdated documents, Perry offers clear, visual instructions that automatically adapt to the work situation thanks to artificial intelligence. The software also continuously learns from feedback in the field. The first customer, cable installer Van Vulpen, is already using the technology to train and support employees in the energy infrastructure sector.
Expansion to other countries
Perry will use the growth capital to further expand its team, develop the software and AI models, and expand to Germany, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.
