The device is powered by an algorithm and doubled the amount of time patients were within the target glucose range compared to standard treatment. &#8220;Feedback from participants suggested that they were happy that their glucose levels were automatically monitored by the system. Also, 89 per cent reported spending less time managing their diabetes in general,&#8221; the university said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cam.ac.uk\/research\/news\/artificial-pancreas-successfully-trialled-for-use-by-type-2-diabetes-patients\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CamAPS HX<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The device combines a turnkey glucose monitor and insulin pump with a team-developed app CamAPS HX.\u00a0This app is managed by an algorithm that predicts how much insulin is needed to keep glucose levels within the target range. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"vlp-link-container vlp-layout-basic wp-block-visual-link-preview-link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ioplus.nl\/archive\/en\/artificial-pancreas-from-dutch-inreda-diabetic-likely-to-be-on-the-market-in-2024\/\" class=\"vlp-link\" title=\"Artificial pancreas from Dutch Inreda Diabetic likely to be on the market in 2024\"><\/a><div class=\"vlp-layout-zone-side\"><div class=\"vlp-block-2 vlp-link-image\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vlp-layout-zone-main\"><div class=\"vlp-block-0 vlp-link-title\">Artificial pancreas from Dutch Inreda Diabetic likely to be on the market in 2024<\/div><div class=\"vlp-block-1 vlp-link-summary\">It is a first in the medical world: the artificial pancreas from medtech company Inreda Diabetic in the Dutch city of Twente.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The researchers have previously shown that an artificial pancreas controlled by a similar algorithm is effective for patients with type 1 diabetes.
