The choice of the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Argaleo shows once again how important innovative Dutch companies and organizations are for the technological advancement of Europe.<\/p><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

An international consortium of twenty organizations has managed to secure a new Horizon Europe project<\/a>, which is called EMERALDS. The project involves developing a mobility data toolset that will make processing and analyzing large data streams a great deal easier. Besides the TU Delft<\/a> and Argaleo<\/a>, a company that makes digital twins,<\/a> Dutch parties Mobility Innovation Centre Delft<\/em> (MICD)<\/a> and Arane<\/em> are also members of the consortium. The municipalities of The Hague and Utrecht have been designated as pilot cities for the project. The overall budget for the project amounts to \u20ac5 million, of which \u20ac700,000 is earmarked for the Dutch parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each and every day in cities, vast quantities of terabytes of mobility data on cars, public transport, bicycles, air quality and so on are made available. That’s all well and good, but that data is only useful if it can be properly processed and analyzed. The goal of the new European project EMERALDS is to create a toolset – Mobility Analytics as a Service<\/em> (MAaaS<\/em>) – that makes it much easier to work with data.<\/p>\n\n\n

Manage, analyze and visualize<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The toolset enables road authorities and other interested parties to collect and manage data that is extensive in terms of size, speed and variety. In addition, the toolset supports the ability to analyze this data online and offline, use it to make predictions, and visualize the results in a digital twin. All these services will respect strict European legislation, and at all levels of the architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is due to start in January 2023.
