Dit gebeurt met hologrammen in digitale microscopen en met behulp van Artifici\u00eble Intelligentie (AI), aldus de universiteit in een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gu.se\/en\/news\/holographic-microscopy-provides-insights-into-the-life-of-microplankton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">persbericht<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plankton is een van de belangrijkste organismen op aarde. Meer dan de helft van alle zuurstof in de wereld wordt geproduceerd door fytoplankton in de oceanen. Toch is de kennis over deze levensvormen beperkt, vooral vanwege hun omvang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Tot nu toe moest ik microplankton op groepsniveau bestuderen, maar met deze nieuwe op AI gebaseerde holografische microscoop kan ik zien hoe individuele microplanktons bewegen, eten, groeien en reproduceren&#8221;, zo zegt Erik Selander, marien bioloog aan de Universiteit van G\u00f6teborg.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"vlp-link-container vlp-layout-basic wp-block-visual-link-preview-link advgb-dyn-a99778d0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ioplus.nl\/archive\/nl\/nederlandse-vinding-doorbreekt-theoretische-grenzen-nano-microscopie\/\" class=\"vlp-link\" title=\"Nederlandse vinding doorbreekt theoretische grenzen nano-microscopie\"><\/a><div class=\"vlp-layout-zone-main\"><div class=\"vlp-block-0 vlp-link-title\">Nederlandse vinding doorbreekt theoretische grenzen nano-microscopie<\/div><div class=\"vlp-block-1 vlp-link-summary\">Onderzoekers van ARCNL (Advanced Research Center for Nanolithography) en de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam hebben een compacte techniek ontwikkeld voor snelle superresolutie-microscopie met ultradunne glasvezels. <\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methodiek<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De methode maakt gebruik van LED-licht om microplankton te analyseren in holografische microscopen en dit zorgt ervoor dat de organismen tijdens het proces onaangetast blijven. \u201cDoor holografische microscopie te combineren met AI, kunnen we nu tegelijkertijd monitoren wat er gebeurt met een grote verzameling microplanktoncellen op \u00e9\u00e9n celniveau, wat voorheen een uitdaging was&#8221;, aldus Harshith Bachimanchi, doctoraalstudent natuurkunde aan de Universiteit van G\u00f6teborg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Hoewel de techniek wordt gedemonstreerd met mariene micro-organismen, is deze vrij universeel in benadering en kan worden toegepast op elke microscopische levensvorm.
