The project is backed by an experienced network of partners that brings together the expertise of the University of Helsinki, City of Helsinki, Finnish Meteorological Institute and Helsinki Region Environmental Services (HSY).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although air quality in Europe has developed significantly over the last few decades, so the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.helsinki.fi\/en\/news\/science-news\/the-most-precise-air-quality-data-in-the-world-is-being-developed-in-helsinki-with-a-next-generation-sensor-network-and-data-modelling-city-residents?utm_source=ThinkLetter%3A+Science+and+research+news+from+the+University+of+Helsinki&amp;utm_campaign=5e0a631f8b-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2021_06_21_07_42&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_152c3e36b3-5e0a631f8b-118438418\">press release of the University of Helsinki<\/a>. A lmost every European still suffers from air pollution, states a report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) from 2020. Not to mention the global situation \u2013 approximately seven million people worldwide die of air pollution annually (WHO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finland is among the top countries in the world from the perspective of clean air (WHO), but up to 2,000 people still die annually from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases caused by air pollution.
