During the Dutch Technology Week, students from primary education can get to know the Automotive Campus during AutoTech on Thursday, May 18<\/span>th<\/span>. The kids participate in several workshops around the technology in a car, they are thinking about bump tests, the robustness of cars and how airbags work.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Twelve different workshops are being organised during this seventh edition of AutoTech. Lianne van den Wittenboer of Brainport Development, organiser of the event, tells more about this day: \u201cThe goal of AutoTech is introducing the Automotive Campus and the automotive sector in general to students. That is why companies like DAF and VDL are involved in the activities. They find it important that more children eventually choose a technical study and they are doing a lot to enthuse this target group about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the making of these workshops, the Automotive Campus is supported by several companies and educational institutions including: DAF, VDL, Innovam, Rijkswaterstaat, Summa engineering, Fontys Automotive and the students team TUecomotive.<\/p>\n

In total, one thousand pupils from year 6, 7 and 8 of primary schools from the area Helmond will be participating in these activities. They can playfully find out more about the automotive engineering and what technology is built into their parents\u2019 car.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
