Naast de TU\/e-campus werkt het studententeam vanaf nu ook op de Automotive campus in Helmond.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ioplus.nl\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/team-FAST-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-72967\" src=\"https:\/\/ioplus.nl\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/team-FAST-2.png\" alt=\"team FAST 2\" width=\"1068\" height=\"687\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>De werkplaats in Helmond gaat dienen als bouw- en testruimte voor de ontwikkeling van de bus. Deze bus zal worden voorzien van elektrische energie door een externe aanhanger waar het systeem van Team FAST in zit. Mierenzuur is een interessant duurzaam alternatief voor fossiele brandstoffenbussen. Door het vloeibare karakter en de hoge energiedichtheid biedt het volgens het team een goed alternatief voor hoge druktanks met waterstof of grote batterijpakketten.<\/p>\n<p>Donderdag 6 oktober werd de nieuwe werkplaats officieel in gebruik genomen met een partner-event. Het dertig mensen tellende studententeam is vanaf september 2015 bezig aan het bouwen van een aanhanger die een bus zal aandrijven. Een schaalmodel van e\u0301e\u0301n meter werd in januari 2016 gepresenteerd. Team FAST heeft als doelstelling medio 2017 de bus rijdend te hebben.
