Ninety people from different backgrounds,\u00a0nationalities and ages gathered for the second edition of Bliksem en Donderdag<\/a> this week at Kazerne<\/a>.\u00a0Bliksem en Donderdag is a new international podium where designs, concepts, ideas and dilemmas are shared, tested and accelerated in front of an enthusiastic, responsive forum.<\/p>\n

This series of Bliksem en Donderdag (a play on the Dutch words for Thunder and Lightning<\/em>) has been inspired by the famous \u201cboterhammensessies\u201d (sandwich sessions). They took place in the 1960\u2019s at the Philips Natlab Research Labs at Strijp-S. During these informal sessions, lab employees shared research and ideas \u2013 something unusual in an era of guarded industrial secrets. They discovered that innovation goes much faster when ideas are shared at an early stage. And great ideas develop when you involve people from very different backgrounds.<\/p>\n

The sustainable energy engineer\u00a0co founded\u00a0wedoWe<\/a>\u00a0and also teaches\u00a0breakdance to underprivileged communities around the world.\u00a0For his next\u00a0project<\/a>\u00a0he is looking for a\u00a0documentary maker\u00a0to join him on his trip.<\/p>\n

Daniel de Bruin<\/a>, a graduate from HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, on his\u00a0Neurotransmitter 3000. A self built machine that responds to his own\u00a0biometric data.<\/p>\n

Her company got connected\u00a0with an\u00a0expat spouse through ESI. She is\u00a0now working as a CFO for the organization.<\/p>\n
