A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tu-darmstadt.de\/universitaet\/aktuelles_meldungen\/einzelansicht_430848.en.jsp\">pioneering project<\/a>, EISKIG, led by TU Darmstadt, is going to change that. Through AI, cooling systems will be optimised. The project, which has a duration of three years and is supported with \u20ac2.5 million by the Bundesministerium f\u00fcr Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"io-block io-block__summary\"><ul><li>Industry makes extensive use of cooling systems, for example in the metal industry. These systems are often not energy efficient.<\/li><li>The EISKIG project uses AI to save energy.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>AI helps to analyse and optimise cooling processes, providing significant energy savings. The so-called etaONE platform plays a crucial role in this. The spread of this technology is expected to help reduce CO2 emissions, in line with global sustainability targets. The cost savings from increased energy efficiency could also encourage investment in further innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industry and science collaboration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cooperation between academia and industry is crucial to the project&#8217;s success. TU Darmstadt&#8217;s PTW Institute and the company etalytics, a spin-off from the university, are leading the research efforts. They are using the platform to manage and optimise the cooling systems of companies such as Merck, Bosch Rexroth and Equinix.
