The ultimate goal is to get the attention of an estimated one billion sports and culture fans through the company&#8217;s app and platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"io-block io-block__summary\"><ul><li>One million euros in funding for CityLegends.<\/li><li>The Eindhoven-based start-up wants to use the money to expand in the U.S.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding was offered by a syndicate of investors, including LeanSquare, LUMO Labs, imec.istart, Dutch Sport Tech Fund and industry expert and angel investor Matthieu de Clercq. CityLegends is a community platform where urban athletes and artists can compete and meet; it works in partnership with other urban sports brands. Next to the marketing effort, the funding will facilitate the refinement of its in-app premium model, introducing more features.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clips, spots, and jams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CityLegends\u2019 platform empowers athletes by discovering and sharing their \u201cclips,\u201d \u201cspots,\u201d \u201cjams\u201d and contests. Athletes create content to participate in diverse contests connected to a global ranking system, fostering a competitive ecosystem of urban esports. With that, the platform offers opportunities to win digital achievements, merchandise, cash prizes, and even access to World Cup qualifiers in the physical world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its pursuit to strengthen urban sports worldwide, CityLegends helps cities become more sustainable and involves brands within these communities. CityLegends collaborates closely with brands, municipalities and governments to better understand the ecosystem, secure funding, and unlock opportunities through its urban institute<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lines.citylegends.io\/\">, LINES by CityLegends.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are forging the platform for the local and global community of unbound urban athletes and artists,\u201d said Jimmy Hermans, co-founder and CEO of CityLegends. \u201cCityLegends is all about video-driven content, exploring new spots, and connecting with others.
