Recognised by Forbes as one of the places in Europe where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisoncoleman\/2015\/06\/21\/five-entrepreneurial-places-in-europe-where-hub-things-are-happening\/#7c763d6cb439\">hub things are happening<\/a>. e52 decided to map this hub that makes up the Eindhoven startup ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Having large and small companies working together amongst each other and with knowledge institutes and local gouvernement has long been the policy of the city counsel of Eindhoven. They call this the <em>triple helix<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This triple helix is really visible when you look at the companies and institutes that support the Eindhoven startup scene:<\/p>\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; height: 0px; padding-bottom: 80%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationorigins.com\/ecosystem.html\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Click on the logo&#8217;s in the map for more information.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/innovationorigins.com\/ecosystem.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for a full screen version<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A major role is there for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tue.nl\/\">Eindhoven University of Technology<\/a> (TU\/e). The TU\/e is recognised as one of the best Universities in the Netherlands by Elsevier. They host and support a lot of startup at their campus. They also are one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brightmove.nl\/\">BrightMove<\/a> founders, which provides early stage financing.<\/p>\n<p>An other major hub is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hightechcampus.nl\/\">High Tech Campus<\/a>. The self proclaimed smartest square kilometer in the world started as the Philips Research facility. Philips Research still is based on the High Tech Campus, so are 140+ other companies, large and small. The High Tech Campus is host to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startupbootcamp.org\/accelerator\/hightechxl-eindhoven.html\">Startupbootcamp HighTechXL<\/a>, one of the world&#8217;s five best high impact accelerators according to UBI Global.<\/p>\n<p>All these companies and institutes are based in and around the relatively small town of Eindhoven.
