The ten winners have been chosen and are already warming up for their stage performance. The drinks and food have been ordered (all vegetarian – if you keep writing about a world in transition, it serves no goal to act differently, of course) and all 300 available tickets have an owner. In short, we are ready for the ninth edition of the Gerard & Anton Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury led by Alderman Stijn Steenbakkers (with members from all parts of the Eindhoven innovative ecosystem) has assigned the new awards to ten outstanding representatives of high-tech Brainport. As usual, the award ceremony (Thursday, Aug. 31, around 5:30 p.m. at the High Tech Campus) is in the hands of Beatrix Bos and Bert-Jan Woertman. Apart from the presentation of the awards themselves, they also have some great news about the future of the Gerard & Anton Awards. More on that next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History of the Gerard & Anton Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 2014, we have had a total of 80 winners on stage. As of 2016, this is done under the name \u201cGerard & Anton Award,\u201d after the best-known startup from the region: Philips. Across the board, the success rate of the winning startups is unprecedentedly high: where, on average, about 15-20% of startups are structurally successful, with this group, it is more than 75%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
