Op dit soort voertuigen worden binnen de terminal zeecontainers vervoerd. Met de order van Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) is een bedrag van tientallen\u00a0miljoenen euro\u2019s gemoeid. VDL leverde al eerder AGV&#8217;s. De nieuwe order betreft de vervanging van oudere,\u00a0diesel aangedreven voertuigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De volledig door VDL te ontwikkelen voertuigen gaan rijden op de ECT Delta-terminal op de Maasvlakte, de grootste AGV-terminal ter wereld. De hybride-elektrische wagens rijden geheel autonoom 24 uur per dag over het terrein. De modulaire opbouw van de voertuigen maakt het mogelijk om technieken tussen alle VDL-voertuigen uit te wisselen, zodat innovaties\u00a0\u2013\u00a0bijvoorbeeld een volledige elektrische aandrijflijn\u00a0\u2013\u00a0eenvoudig te integreren zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Navigatiesysteem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>E\u00e9n van de grote innovaties\u00a0bij de nieuwe AGV\u2019s\u00a0is de\u00a0integratie van VDL\u2019s eigen\u00a0&#8216;state of the art&#8217; navigatiesysteem. Dit systeem is gebaseerd op een vergelijkbaar systeem dat ook door grote autofabrikanten wordt ingezet. Dit navigatieplatform zorgt\u00a0voor een effici\u00ebntere containeroverslag.
