Dat zegt Atos, een van de partners in het project City Pulse, <a href=\"http:\/\/ascent.atos.net\/data-analytics-hold-key-safer-streets\/\" target=\"_blank\">op het eigen platform<\/a>. Het project zelf is nog in volle gang.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kkXxCkQMkDo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Voor Atos is het Stratumseind een mooie uitbreiding van de al aanwezige focus op real-time monitoring van data. Paul Moore:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>At Atos, we have experience of using real-time social media monitoring to detect patterns and insights into how people react to live incidents on Twitter, such as global sporting events. In a bid to extend this work, my team wanted to test which other domains would benefit from this type of analysis. We turned our attention to city streets to create a safer and more sociable environment for visitors and citizens.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Met meer dan 50 bars en nachtclubs en elk weekend\u00a0ruim 15.000\u00a0feestvierders, is het Stratumseind de langste levendigste straat voor het nachtleven in Nederland. De vijf ingangen van de straat hangen vol\u00a0met camera&#8217;s en microfoons, waarmee het politiebureau constant en real-time wordt gevoed. City Pulse combineerde deze &#8220;on-the-ground&#8221;-informatie met de gegevens van twitter en andere social media bronnen, om zo een krachtig beeld van de straat te krijgen. Doel was te kijken of die extra data de politie zou kunnen helpen betere prognoses te maken en beter te kunnen reageren op ontstane situaties.<\/p>\n<p>Twee soorten waarschuwingen komen voort uit\u00a0de pilot: zowel real-time (de plek en het moment waarop incidenten gebeuren) als verwachte (trends op basis waarvan kon worden &#8220;voorspeld&#8221; waar incidenten zouden kunnen gaan plaatsvinden).\u00a0Met name die laatste waarschuwingen zijn interessant, omdat autoriteiten op basis daarvan goed onderbouwde beslissingen kunnen nemen over eventuele aanvullende maatregelen die noodzakelijk kunnen zijn. Daardoor kan de politie op straat veel beter en preciezer opereren.<\/p>\n<p>De social media analyses gaan daarbij volgens Atos verder dan de gebruikelijke sentiment-analyses:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Rather than the typical approach where positive and negative emotions are detected, we trained the system to analyse the text in terms of stress and danger, for a more accurate measure on real-time conditions on the street and whether citizens were safe.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hoewel de pilot veel heeft opgeleverd, zijn er nog wel verbeteringen te bedenken, zegt Atos. Ten eerste zou City Pulse nog veel beter ge\u00efntegreerd moeten worden met de overige sensornetwerken in de stad, om nog betere informatie te krijgen.
