World\u2019s largest car maker invests in <\/strong>fully<\/strong> automated metal additive manufacturing system for tooling<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\n

Volkswagen and Additive Industries have entered into a long-term partnership to additively manufacture advanced tooling and spare parts for the Volkswagen Group. In September, Additive Industries has installed its latest MetalFAB1 system in Wolfsburg and the first products have been successfully produced after an intensive training of the Volkswagen team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see great potential for 3D metal printing of a broad range of car parts and tooling and have joined forces in Volkswagen internally to increase our facility sevenfold to be prepared for the digital future\u201d, said Klaus-J\u00fcrgen Herzberg, Betriebsrat. \u201cThe investment in the most modern 3D printing equipment allows us to continue to be front-runners in toolmaking and give our craftsmen access to the latest technology\u201d, added Oliver Pohl, Department Manager.<\/p>\n
