In the finals, he defeated fellow TUM-student Alex Pohl with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.contunity.eu\/www\/\">Contunity<\/a> and Jeroen Bleker from Eindhoven with his startup <a href=\"https:\/\/innovationorigins.com\/student-team-storm-now-company\/\">Spike<\/a>.\u00a0Bram Cappers, also from the TU\/e, won the prize for the best 2-pager with his plan for <a href=\"http:\/\/event-pad.com\">Eventpad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Eindhoven University of Technology hosted the final event of the annual programme. Out of 22 different startups from five technical universities across Europe, the German pitches were most convincing, according to a jury of three specialists in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p><em>This video shows the introduction by organiser Steven van Huiden, the elevator pitches of the 10 semi-finalists, and the decision of the jury:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Eurotech Venture Programme Finals 2018\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qTziFEmnX-8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The EVP is an intensive 12-day program takes entrepreneurs on a journey to four different ecosystems in Europe to enable startups to grow their business beyond borders. They already visited DTU Copenhagen, EPFL Lausanne, and TUM Munich (the four partner universities in the EuroTech Alliance, recently joined by l\u2019X Polytechnique in Paris) for several components involved in creating a business.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_152888\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-152888\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ioplus.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180831_171912.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-152888\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.ioplus.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180831_171912-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Eurotech\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-152888\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">TU Munich is Winner of the Eurotech Venture Programme<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Piet van der\u00a0Wielen, one of the jury members, shared some serious advise with the winner at the end: &#8220;Google the hell out of your potential competition! There\u2019s always a company similar to yours. And if you didn\u2019t find it on page 1, go to page 2, 3 and 4. And learn from it, try to find that one aspect that distinguishes you from the rest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>After the elevator pitch, the three finalists had to deliver three longer pitches.
