NXP Semiconductors and Siemens Digital Factory have entered the top-5 of the annual IoT ONE 500 Index<\/a>. By this, they have been\u00a0named two of the world\u2019s most impactful Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) companies based on recent research by IoT ONE<\/a>. NXP reached fourth place, Siemens DF fifth. Together with Swiss ABB (placed #10), they\u00a0are the only non-American companies in the top-10. The rest of the top-500 is also dominated by companies from the US. Germany has three more companies in the top-20: SAP, Siemens (the mother company), and Bosch. NXP is based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, but also has offices in Munich and Nuremberg. The top-3 consists of\u00a0Thingworx, Texas Instruments, and Intel.<\/p>\n

Every year, IoT ONE assesses over 2,000 IIoT solution providers in the IoT ONE ecosystem to create the IoT ONE 500 Index, which aims to identify and showcase the premier companies that are making the greatest impact in the IIoT ecosystem. NXP achieved the premium Industrial IoT Index ranking based on its brand influence, technology innovation, ecosystem openness, and input from industry experts and end users who validated the results generated by IoT ONE. Some of NXP\u2019s top scores were in the categories of processors and boards, transceivers, and sensors and actuators.<\/p>\n

For Siemens Digital Factory and for Siemens itself, top scores were in the categories of Power Supplies, Transceivers, Data Visualization, Data Analytics and APIs. IoT ONE: “The Digital Factory Division at Siemens offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated hardware, software, and technology-based services in order to support manufacturing companies worldwide in enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of their manufacturing processes and reducing the time to market of their products. Siemens is the largest engineering company in Europe. With their positioning along the electrification value chain, Siemens has knowhow that extends from power generation to power transmission, power distribution and smart grid to the efficient application of electrical energy.”<\/p>\n

NXP just announced it\u2019s new Industrial Competency Center. Based in\u00a0Hamburg, “the center further strengthens its IIoT commitment by providing a comprehensive industrial system program portfolio with research and collaborative programs that will fuel innovation for the connected manufacturing and industrial processes of tomorrow.”<\/p>\n
