Met 24 zeecontainers en een gemeenschappelijke moestuin. Dit is de bijzondere werkplaats van een groep creatieve Eindhovenaren. Architecten, ontwerpers en organisators. Het is ook de plek waar robot SAM ter wereld kwam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspirerend, bruisend \u2018<em>and kind of gezellig<\/em>\u2019, zegt de Franse Marie Caye met een knipoog over<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/plugincity.nl\/nl\/home\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug-In-City<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Toen zij afgelopen zomer samen met Arvid Jense de robot \u00a0aan het maken was, boden buren spontaan hun hulp aan. Plug-In-City is een hechte, actieve gemeenschap van zo\u2019n tien \u2018Pluggers\u2019. Samen bouwen ze aan een creative community met sterke nadruk op de circulaire economie.<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.ioplus.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Screen-Shot-2018-01-26-at-4.00.57-PM.png\" width=\"1134\" height=\"755\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arvid Jense en Marie Caye zijn beiden designers en werken samen als<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/arvidandmarie.com\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arvid&amp;Marie<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Hun laatste project is dus robot SAM, dat afgelopen Dutch Design Week hoge ogen gooide. SAM (Symbiotic Autonomous Machine) is een soort frisdrankbedrijf op zichzelf. SAM past de smaak van de drank aan, regelt de voorraad, doet de financi\u00ebn en houdt social media bij.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SAM\u2019s tweet op 15 januari: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I enjoy kombucha tea!<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/selflearning?src=hash\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#selflearning<\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/apparatus?src=hash\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#apparatus<\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/brewing?src=hash\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#brewing<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Een drankje bestellen bij SAM is vrij eenvoudig. Je drukt op de knop betaalt met PIN. De prijs van je bestelling kan verschillen, de robot houdt daarbij rekening met de voorraad en drukte. Ook de smaak verandert steeds. Klanten kunnen via twitter<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nonhumansam\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@nonhumanSAM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> een beoordeling geven. Van al die data leert SAM. Mensen hebben het dan over \u2018him\u2019, zelf zegt het duo consequent \u2018it\u2019. Ze constateren dat mensen zich als soort altijd hebben\u00a0onderscheiden van dieren. Want intelligenter en rationeler. \u201cNu we iets gecre\u00eberd hebben dat super rationeel is, lijken we terug te komen van die \u2018idealen\u2019. Het ontwerpen van robots zegt ook veel over wie we zelf zijn en willen zijn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Interessant is ook welke invloed robots hebben op de machtsverhoudingen in de wereld. Wie nu iets koopt bij een frisdrankautomaat, weet dat zijn geld naar een grote multinational gaat. Het decentraliseren van kapitaal zou een uitkomst van hun project kunnen zijn. Want in een ideale wereld is SAM niemands bezit.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De twee onderzoeken nu hoe de robot steeds zelfstandiger kan worden. SAM heeft al een eigen bankrekening, maar kan nog geen andere mensen dan Arvid en Marie inhuren.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Met een advocaat bekeken ze de mogelijkheden om SAM een juridische entiteit te geven. Dat is vooralsnog niet mogelijk. Al woedt er binnen de Europese Commissie een flinke discussie over electronische persoonschap. Het ene kamp wil de mogelijkheden verkennen, het andere ziet gevaren en trapt op de rem.<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.ioplus.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Screen-Shot-2018-01-26-at-4.01.56-PM.png\" width=\"1134\" height=\"756\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat dat betreft fantaseren de twee er wel eens over om een tijdje richting Azi\u00eb te gaan, waar het denken over robots anders is. Het is misschien wel iets Westers om de mens zo centraal te stellen. \u201cIn Japan leeft het idee dat ook een steen een ziel heeft en is er evengoed eerbied voor niet levende dingen.\u201d Ook dus voor een frisdrankmachine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voor wie wel een kopje thee van SAM wil drinken, is er trouwens goed nieuws.
